Aaron Karena
Rangitāne o Tamaki nui-ā-Rua, Ngāi Tahu, Te Āti Haunui a Pāpārangi, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa
Born and raised at Dannevirke, out at Kaitoki where his whanau have lived for generations, Aaron is the son of Christine Karena (Hoera) and Riki Karena; mokopuna of Tai & Kuini Hoera and Wyn & Te Ariki Karena. Aaron now resides in Dannevirke with his Wife Emily and sons, Braxton & Kupa.
Aaron studied at Massey University and went on to become a Chartered Accountant. Aaron has over 10 years’ experience in Public Practice Accounting in Rural NZ and serves on the CAANZ National Primary Sector Committee. Aaron enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Aaron is heavily involved in the Tamaki nui-ā-Rua community through various voluntary roles in Community Organisations. He is very passionate about his runanga and is the current Chair of Te Tahua o Rangitane and Executive member of Rangitāne o Tamaki nui-ā-Rua and represents his hapū on the Kaitoki Marae Committee.
